“O sing unto the LORD a new song:
sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
Sing unto the LORD, bless his name;
show forth his salvation from day to day”.
(Psalm 96:1,2)

As we worship through song, we must always remember Who is at the heart of our worship. Toward that goal, the hymns are chosen to support the message in that Sunday’s scriptures. Normally, hymns are selected from the Hymnbook 1982 on Rite I Sundays (1st and 3rd Sundays) and from The Hymnal for Worship and Celebration on Rite II Sundays (2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays).

“But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.”
(Psalms 59:16)

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild Ministry is an integral part of every church service. Members are responsible for cleaning the sanctuary weekly and rotate in setting the altar for Eucharist every week and for any extra services, such as weddings & funerals.

Members of the Altar Guild have a knowledge of the vessels used, names & functions of all linens & how to care for them as needed and are trained by the director and priest.

This is a very reverent, joyful & very rewarding ministry. If you are interested in learning more about this ministry, please let our priest know.

Episcopal Church Women

Several years ago a group of women from St. Lukes began meeting regularly to study and discuss the Bible. It was decided to search out materials and study guides that were of interest to us giving special consideration to those written by women for women. Throughout the years we have explored several excellent books including Women of the Bible by Ann Spangler & Jean E. Syswerda and The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, but we’ve also completed several Serendipity study guides and are planning a study of Galatians . No matter what the chosen subject, we’ve found the discussion both lively and enriching. Please join us as we continue to grow and learn as we study The Word on Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the library.

Episcopal Church Women meeting – 2nd Saturday 10:00 am (except June, July and August)

Our Purpose as the Episcopal Church Women of St. Luke’s is to empower each other to live the life for which Christ called us by sharing His love through outreach, fellowship and spiritual growth. The Episcopal Church Women of St. Luke’s is the fellowship of all women of the church and is organized to enable the women to serve our Lord through Service, Worship, Education, Evangelism and Pastoral Care. All women in the parish are members.

ECW’s Prayer:

Almighty God, Heavenly Father, source of all knowledge and truth, be present with each of us meeting together as the Women of the Episcopal Church. Grant us open minds, compassionate hearts, honest words and gentle ways. Give us the grace to know your will, the courage to accept it and the strength to accomplish it. May we not forget the lessons from the past nor fear the challenges of the future. Bless us with your peace today and all the days to come, and may we ever pray, “Thy will be done”. We live in your presence and pray in your Holy Name. Amen
